I stopped by Newcastle Griddle for lunch while I was on the job, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavourful, and came out quickly — perfect for a workday break. What really stood out, though, was the amazing customer service. I had recently done a job for them, and they surprised me by giving me my drinks for free as a thank-you. It was a simple gesture, but it showed how much they value their customers and community. Highly recommend this spot if you want great food, friendly service, and a place that treats you right. I’ll definitely be back!
Nice cute little joint. Seems to be the spot for the locals to meet and have a little visit. Good and very friendly service. Food was good. I had the BLT and Soup of the day which was, chicken soup and it was very delish! Coffee... well it was ok, overpriced,.. but isn't everything these days I would definitely go back. It had a good vibe to it!
If you enjoy your Eggs Benedict with shells in your eggs this is your place. Didn't even offer to bring out a fresh order without the shells in my eggs. Very disappointing
Really bad experience here. It came off to a bad start when we saw who I believe to be the owner was being really rude to his staff. He was following them like they’re idiots and yelling at them. Right infront of customers. I’m getting REALLY sick of owners doing this. Later on, I saw the cook wiping his nose with his hands and also picking his ear. I was mortified and asked a worker the name of the cook who I then found out is Reuban. It’s also blatantly clear they use CHATGPT to reply to their reviews which is really embarrassing considering the environmental damage they have. Do you not care to formulate your own response to your customers? Own up to your mistakes.
We went there for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. We sat outside and it was pretty busy. The server was very friendly and accommodating with food substitutions and omissions. The food itself was delicious and well cooked. It was a very nice and relaxing time. The outside patio is very pleasant. We will definitely go back again.
We found this place on our route and had a craving for a late breakfast. I read the reviews quickly so knew what to expect. The food was good but pricey for breakfast in this environment. The servers were lovely, but you need some patience. We got our own menus and cutlery. It has a nice little patio which has a better vibe than the inside.
Our first visit here was a service disaster! We were blatantly ignored by the wait staff for 20 minutes before we walked out. I reached out to the manager Karin, who was very apologetic. Upon our return Karin went above and beyond to ensure that the service that we received was a beyond reproach. That being said, the service that was provided throughout the establishment remained low. The table next to us had to remind the server twice that they had requested coffee. When it came it was served without spoons. The server went on to explain to a couple other tables that they were out of spoons at the moment. The food looked great when it arrived. The steak in the steak omelet was flavorless. The French toast was more toast than french. The berry crepe was colourful but soggy. Despite the manger's efforts, I don't think that we will be returning to this establishment.
